Greenspace Environmental successfully applied Non-Agricultural Source Material (NASM) planning principles to facilitate the beneficial reuse of biosolid material as fertilizer, in full compliance with Ontario’s regulatory framework. Through careful site assessment and soil nutrient analysis, Greenspace developed a comprehensive NASM Plan that outlined appropriate application rates, timing, and methods to maximize agricultural benefit while protecting soil and water resources. The plan included detailed risk assessments, buffer zone specifications, and monitoring protocols to ensure environmental safety and regulatory compliance. By diverting biosolid material from disposal and repurposing it as a nutrient-rich soil amendment, Greenspace not only reduced waste but also supported sustainable land management practices and contributed to the circular economy.
